teenage kids(13-14) and NOT wanting to take a bath or brush teeth?
is this normal? a friend said that a lot of kids today don’t want to take care of themselves. is this true? what is the best thing to do? talking doesn’t seem to work!! thanks any ideas will help. also is it just me or are a lot of kids today just lazy?
were i live a lot of kids(13-14) are doing this. some go 3-4 days inbetween showers and say "i don’t know why" brushing teeth takes time away from his/her morning/nite.
show them an array of rotten teeth and stunted bodies due to bad hygene
that might change their way of thinking
(edit: c’mon trolls! this person is asking for advice and not for your juvenile ranting "eww eww" stfu -.-)

No i’m 13 and I love being clean so thats not normal

my little brother is 13 and he takes a shower everyday without anyone telling him anything.
he likes to smell good for girls and people do make fun of people that stink
show them pictures of what could happen to them
and no girl will ever get with someone that smells nasty

it’s not just you! but i am lazy because all the work i have from school and all the homework i have for home. But i still do it because i know i have to!

Ew that is nasty. No it is not some new teen fad or anything, it is poor hygiene. No, we teens are not lazy, in fact you are the lazy one. You do realize proper grammar dictates you use capital letters to start a sentence. If you ask me, you are lazy and those kids are gross. Make them do it.

It is just plain laziness.

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww not normal ewwwwwwwwwwww

Ewwww! Seriously? Well, the parents must make them wash and take care of their personal hygiene. If they choose to act like babies then treat them as such and sit in the bathroom and make sure they shower, brush their teeth etc. My son is 2.5 and doesn’t throw a fit at bathtime.

Try letting them get a new shampoo/soap/toothpaste flavor and see if that helps. Sometimes being able to sort of customize their daily routines makes things more fun for preteen/teen kids.

Trust me. When they start getting interested in the opposite sex, they’ll start realizing this stuff on their own. Nobody wants a smelly, sweaty person that smiles to show charcoal black teeth.

Take it from me.
Put a magnifying glass over their teeth and take a picture.
Rub the plaque off one of their teeth with your finger and show them what it looks like.
Tell them brushing will make their food TASTE better (if you haven’t already).
Give them mouthwash.
Perhaps best yet…tell them you won’t buy them ANY sugary food until they brush.

Far as taking a bath…take any notes of kids who make fun of them for their stinky-ness and remind them what "losers" they look like when they don’t bathe and how many more girls/boys would be attracted to them if they did. Buy them fancy body wash, bubble bath, get a garden tub with jets installed etc. …try to make it fun.

no its not normal its down right scruffy and filthy.
if they wont wash or brush there teeth then let them get on with it! i bet going to school stinking for a few weeks will attract the bullies and they will soon come looking for there toothbrush.
