My 1year old daugther hates brushing her teeth, what should i do to convince her?

I tried buying her different kinds of kids toothbrush but still no effect.

My kids are disabled so I know what you are going through. What ever you do, kids seem to hate mint. Some over the counter toothpastes for babies have a better taste like fruity tuity. She can’t spit yet (and don’t make her she won’t know how to) make sure the toothpaste is for babies. She will fight, all babies do at this age. Remember not to push hard, it may scratch the gums and make sure you have a very soft bristle brush. Good luck.

  1. You can’t convince her, you have to make her. Mine doesn’t like to but I brush them for her. What I also do is grab her play tea cup so that when I’m done brushing her teeth she gets to spit out…she enjoys that. Also likes to play with the water.

this may sound daft but try a powered toothbrush if u havent all ready my wee one loves the tickly vibration it gives and its effortless brushing xx it may take some time to get her used to it but let her feel the brush vibrate in her hands first tell her that it really tickles its fun dont make it such a health need but more of a game see how u get on xx and with the powered brush there may be slight redness or bleeding this shouldn’t be a worry but ask ur dental professional next time u visit if u want to be safe am sure u can buy kid powered toothbrushes that dont use as much power but still tickle the teeth xD

  5. Well; ask her why? Most likely you won’t get much feedback from a 1 year old, so if that doesn’t work try these tips:

    1. try making it fun.
    2. get her tasty and colorful toothpaste.
    3. let her pick out her own toothbrush.
    4. try finding kid movies, TV shows, or songs that show her brushing her teeth is fun.
    5. Try brushing your teeth with her every night, until she starts doing it on her own.
    6. Does she have a favorite toy? If so, tell her that toy likes bruching it’s teeth. (maybe even demonstrate it.)
    7. Last, it’s not that great, but try scaringher into it. Tell how gross her teeth wiil become, teeth monsters live in her mouth if she doesn’t brush, tell her about the toothfairy and that it only collects nice clean teeth.
    Hope it helps! Good luck!

  8. With my kids, I would brush for them to make sure the teeth were really clean, then let them do it on their own. It gave them a sense of independence and was more fun. Or you could do it in reverse. Let her brush, and then you play a little game of " did you brush here?" …." and here??" and make sure all the areas have been cleaned. I know it is sometimes a struggle, but it is soooo important! Keep up the good work, and you’ll teach her a lifetime of good hygiene. Also, I remember a friend telling me about a toothbrush that plays music while you brush that shuts off when it’s time to stop (like 3 minutes) Maybe that would help?
