What is the appropriate age for a kid to start brushing their teeth by themselves?
My daughter is 5 years old and knows how to brush her teeth, but i have been reluctant to let her do it by herself.
i think you still need to supervise and help as needed. don’t just let her go off and do it and assume its done properly. my 7 yr old still cant do it properly, let alone my 4.5 year old
we tend to have the habit of they do it themselves in the morning and i do it at night to make sure they are getting done right at least once a day but they still get the practice in as well
switch to an electric toothbrush as well as they do a much better job and the kids love them!
Our kids are 10, 9, 7. They brush their own teeth a.m and we do it for them p.m. This teaches them, but also makes sure it gets done properly regularly.
