What’s the "rule of thumb" time limit for tooth brushing?

Do you time your kid’s tooth brushing? How long for each tooth? Or how long for the whole mouth? Do you have to remind them NOT to forget their tongue?

Our dentist said to sing the ABCs while brushing either the top or bottom and then switch and sing it again.

  6. my parents always told me two minutes and i had a timer that they made me use.

    I try to get my kids to brush that long but they always fight me on it….

    I have that Kids Toothpaste that shows blue spots if they have missed a spot or if their is heavy plaque build up.

    Normally brushing for two minutes on the upper and two minutes on the lowers gets the job done plus a good mouth wash

  9. The dentist says it’s a 2 min minimum, i brush my children’s teeth a little longer as it’s harder to get those back molars sometimes…with my oldest child and the 3 year old…they do it for atleast 3 min. as well…i still have to help out the 3 year old at times though!
