Can you rehape and whiten all of your teeth with dental bonding?

Instead of getting veneers, can you just get all of your teeth bonded and rehshaped and whitened? would it look good?

With bonding it is possible to reshape and brighten the color of your teeth. However, bonding does not last a lifetime and it is difficult to tell how long it will last, it depends on how your teeth come together and what your habits are. (Veneers don’t last forever either) with veneers or bonding you are making a long term commitment.

You should have your dentist take a look and see what they recommend, if you already have bonding on some of your teeth, they won’t whiten w/ bleaching, so you would want to have those replaced anyways.

Are dental implants for missing teeth only?

I’m 16 years old and I’ll be getting braces. ugh. But I was wondering if dental implants are for missing teeth only?, or if there’s a possibility that they can replace crooked teeth?

I think they can but…
They are very expensive and I had one for a missing tooth that did not work (it did not correctly screw into place) so I now have just a gap and the metal cover.
I would much prefer crooked teeth and would recommend them only as a last result for missing teeth, mine caused pain and nerve damage.
Braces are a much better and far less drastic option, I’m sure they will fix the crooked teeth!

My teeth need dental work done and I have gaps from previous extractions that I would like filled.?

My Dentist will only do fillings and has said that any other work ie Bridge, Implants, Dentures would have to be paid for. I am exempt from paying for Dental treatment so how does this work?

Can they remove wisdom teeth dental sutures in the ER?

I had my wisdom teeth removed 4 days ago, and my jaw doesn’t hurt anymore, but the sutures are really killing me now. Feels like they’re getting tighter and tighter. The dentist said they would dissolve on their own, but that doesn’t seem to be happening. I just want them out, but can they remove them in the ER or do I need to wait to go the dentist’s office? Taking opium based painkillers are not an option for me since they harden my stools way too much.

I am embarrassed about my teeth but I am a dental hygienist in the making. How do I overcome this fear?

I had to discontinued my braces for a while, so now I have gaps between my maxillary laterals and canines. Also besides this I have other dental issues going on. We have to start working on each other pretty soon, but I am extremely insecure about my teeth and what others would think of my teeth. What can I do to overcome this and focus on becoming a hygienist?

I really don’t think u have any thing to b worried about..this is where the trust is gained and good for you that you don’t have "perfect teeth" whatever that means. This way u will have a better understanding of how your patients feel when they come you. U will b able to relate to them and have more to share when it comes to them and their self confidence. No one has to be perfect or have the perfect smile we all think is in..just be u. As long as u have a healthy smile then why care? ur in school to learn not boost ur ego but if you do along the way then great. Like they said you can save up your money u never know what dentist you will end up working for. Any thing can b fixed so just enjoy your time in dental school and have a blast! learn all you can.

Do you need dental coverage to have your wisdom teeth out?

My husband’s wisdom teeth are causing a lot of pain. He really needs to have them out but we don’t have dental coverage. Is oral surgery covered by regular insurance or is it included in dental? We have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and we pay for it out of pocket.

If the teeth are fully bony impacted or partial bony impacted, extraction is generally covered under a medical insurance policy.

That’s the key though – fully or partially impacted in the bone. (With wisdom teeth, that’s generally the case.)

You can call your insurance company to confirm whether you have a benefit for impacted teeth, and if so…which oral surgeons are in the network? And then confirm with the provider whether your husband’s teeth are fully or partially bony impacted.
