Give Kids A Smile Day – TOOTH AmeriCorps
TOOTH AmeriCorps is a special AmeriCorps program in partnership with the California Conservation Corps providing dental health education in rural Humboldt County. TOOTH = Teaching Oral Optimism Throughout Humboldt and is based at the Fortuna CCC. During this event, low-income children ages 12 and under had the opportunity to take part in many activities including classes on brushing and flossing, puppet shows, arts and crafts and more. “Give Kids a Smile” is part of the American Dental Association’s national Children’s Dental Access Day. The local fair is sponsored by the Humboldt County Library, the California Conservation Corps and Teaching Oral Optimism Throughout Humboldt (TOOTH) Americorps.
