how many teeth should an average adult have and when do molars start growing?

im 13 and i have 12 teeth on top and 12 on the bottom. on one side of my mouth it it sore and i think it might be a molar or wisdom tooth whatever they are called. does all this sound normal,Should i have more teeth?Oh and do you have to get molars removed?

when ur mouth is done getting new teeth, there should be 32 total. most adults have their wisdoms taken out though, so that leaves them with 28. since you say that you have 24 teeth right now, you still have a few more molars to come, then around 17-21 years old, your wisdom teeth are going to come in. congrats on the new teeth! =]

the premolars and the first molars must have been erupted by now….
what is erupting now may be your second molar…..and yes it is normal for a 13 year old…dont worry and the wisdom tooth will erupt only after u complete 17 years of age…
