What causes teeth to become crooked at a young age?
I have noticed that most babies have straight teeth but sometimes when they get older and get their milk teeth out, their adult teeth get crooked. Why is that?Is it because of genetics or something else?
It’s related to the size of your jaw and the size of your teeth, so it all boils down to genetics
In a baby, the jaw is small and the teeth are small. But this is highly variable as one grows older and get permanent dentition.
Yes genetics play a part in it and also the size of their mouths compared to these bigger teeth coming in. They are much larger than the baby teeth and as they get older they will move around and straighten out in some cases and in others no.

Well thats partly it. But also if you suck on your thumb as a child then that also effected your teeth growth

it is because of many reasons like discrepency in jaw size and the tooth size. when the teeth size is large and the jaw size is small this problem is there. it can be hereditary and can be because of the habits like thumb sucking, mouth breathing and can be because of decayed and retained baby teeth. for more information on dental topics you can visit the following link

It might be time for them to get their molars removed.

Yes genetics in my case. I had my mother teeth exactly…. had to have the same 4 pulled in order to get braces as well.
My 2 year olds teeth are straight…… but I guess we will see later on, my husbands teeth are fine too so she has a 50/50 chance.
I think its just the size of your jaw/mouth…. and how many teeth they can handle….. I am actually getting the q8 year molars taken ot fairly soon….. they dont bother me a tone but they cant come in all the way becasue I had my braces and I have used the retainer for years still…. so on the chance I quit using my retainer I definitely wouldnt want 2 years of braces ruined becasue I didnt take out those teeth..
So all in all my mouth is basically perfect without 8 teeth….. 2 back in each corner….
